Carolina Copy Cats

Center Stage Dance Academy

2020 Gold Hill Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29708

Center Stage Dance Academy

Wednesday during the season at the center stage dance academy in Tega Cay, compliments of owner Maegan Kittrell.

Carolina Copy Cats welcome you!!

The Carolina Copy Cats is a fun-loving group devoted to providing entertainment primarily for places like senior living communities, skilled care facilities, church groups, club meetings, and retirement communities.

The costumes used in these performances would make you think you’re in an event in Las Vegas.  Almost all of the costumes are handmade or donated for us to perform in numbers featuring the Vintage songs that come from musicals like Hello Dolly, Chicago, Sweet Charity, Meet Me in St. Louis, etc.

Our senior audiences readily remember such songs as Pretty Baby, Lollipop, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, By the Light of the Silvery Moon, A Bushel and a Peck – the smiles, laughter, and applause we receive are our reward.

This all-volunteer non-profit organization group provides all the sound equipment, costumes, and props for each performance which will take you back in time to when Rock and Roll was king.

Some say they can’t believe how great we sing till they find out its through lip syncing.

The Carolina Copy Cats, founded in 2007, is based in Tega Cay, at the Center Stage Dance Academy, compliments of owner Maegan Kittrell.

Over 50 years old and wanting to go places and do things with your peers? Join our friendly fun-loving group of men, women, singles, couples and have fun taking part in our events.

About Us

The Carolina Copy Cats June McDuffee Scholarship is named after our founder. We were founded in 2007 through June’s article in the Fort Mill Times. A non-profit organization devoted to providing entertainment primarily to senior citizens. They perform about 30 lip-synched shows annually featuring the vintage music that is most recognized by senior audiences.

The proceeds from these events allowed The Carolina Copy Cats to start a scholarship fund at Winthrop University in the amount of $1,500. Incoming York County or South Carolina freshmen pursuing a college degree preferably in Theatre or Dance will receive $500 each.

In addition to the Winthrop scholarships, The Carolina Copy Cats gives an annual one or two June McDuffee Scholarships to a Center Stage Dance Senior pursuing a college education. We were able to give two $1000 scholarships in 2019 & 2020. In 2021 a $1000 scholarship was awarded.  In 2023 a $1000 and two $500 scholarships were awarded.

Theatre and Dance Scholarships & Awards

What do you do for fun?”

The beauty about dancing for fun at a later age is you get all of the fun without the pressure of perhaps one day becoming a professional dancer.

All through lip-syncing and costumed performances we take our audience back in time to when Rock and Roll was king.

(No singing at all just lip-syncing)
